About
Believing that you can feel better is often difficult to imagine – especially when your thoughts take over, and you become emotionally out of balance. Anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, as well as many other concerns can change the way you live your life… and not for the better.
Change is difficult, and naturally we try to avoid it. Taking the steps to create positive change is what people really want once they eliminate the fear or anxiety of how, when and where.
Making small shifts can have large results.
The process isn’t always the easiest or most comfortable, like most things that are worth working for. Without even meeting you, I know you are worth working and fighting for.
Therapy offers benefits throughout all areas of your life. Our issues don’t stay neatly together in a little box with a pretty bow; they spread throughout our whole life causing imbalance and possibly chaos. Making small shifts in thinking, feeling and actions have large results.
No two people are alike, and no two therapy sessions are either.
I provide unconditional support and encouragement throughout your journey. Most importantly, I help guide you to better understand yourself, including experiences, reactions, core beliefs, and patterns. I offer tools to learn how to cope and manage whatever you believe isn’t working in your life, offering opportunity and skills to try something different that will help increase feelings of happiness, balance, and an overall healthier lifestyle.
Imagine…
My office is a safe, soothing, comfortable space. Imagine sitting in your favorite spot with a warm tea or coffee, free of fears of judgment. Taking a few slow deep breaths results in feeling relaxed and motivated to work on yourself. You realize you deserve this time to be the only priority for the next 55 minutes.
Together we discuss whatever comes to mind, planned or not. There is no pressure for our conversation to go in any direction. Fifty-five minutes go by in the blink of an eye, and you find yourself feeling lighter and more hopeful for a better tomorrow. Then you rejoin your world, until we meet again.
If you’d like to do more than imagine this experience…
About Me
Thank you for stopping by, I am looking forward to meeting you!
Learning about you and understanding your story while building your trust is my focus. My genuine interest is your wellness and helping you achieve that through understanding and guidance. I believe you can feel better and gain relief from whatever is causing you discomfort.
Credentials
I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC), trained in identifying and treating mental health concerns. I have been working for over 15 years in the field of Clinical Psychology providing individual and family therapy.
Treatment Specialties
My treatment specialties are in providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational Living Therapy (RLT, subgroup of CBT). These are combined with complementary therapeutic approaches to help uncover and correct long-standing behavior patterns, thinking errors, and negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling, meaningful, balanced, and successful life.
You are not alone in your challenges. By using a caring, collaborative, and non-judgmental approach, I will help you gain insight and skills to cope with your immediate circumstances while developing breakthroughs that last a lifetime.
Getting to Know Me
As we spend more time together you will get to know me as well. Until then let me tell you a little about myself. I love people and being social. My husband always says, “No matter where we go, you always find someone to talk to.”
Outside my practice, I appreciate spending time with my family and friends; food is always included. Hosting and cooking sound like a great idea, until it’s time to clean up. Creativity is my greatest outlet. I enjoy painting, making jewelry; anything art- or craft-related is relaxing.
I am not going to lie, I also like a good hour of reality tv! I know, I know, it’s a waste of time and probably killing brain cells. However, watching human behavior under a microscope (we all know there is minimal reality to it) is my guilty pleasure.
Often, I think it’s shameful that I have not read a book for leisure in years. The only reading I do is related to psychology, wellness or mental health. I guess that can be considered leisure when you love what you do, and it becomes part of who you are. People and relationships are my greatest interest, and more importantly I want people to live as healthy and happy as possible.
