What does all that mean in real life?

Often, we go through life having no idea that our thoughts control most of how we live.

The Power of Jane’s Thoughts

Jane believed nothing went her way in life. She felt unlovable and unworthy of a happy, healthy life. She would often say, “It’s not a big deal; that’s just the way it goes; it’s the hand I was dealt.”

When we first started working together, Jane was completely unware of her beliefs about herself, others and the world. This initially made it difficult for her to understand how those beliefs influenced her daily life.

How Jane’s Thoughts Changed in Therapy

The understanding, empathy, and safety that I offered opened a whole new world by allowing Jane to verbalize what she was thinking and feeling. With time, we explored her lifetime experiences that developed her way of thinking and her beliefs. She soon could identify her irrational thoughts – which was shocking for her. The next step was to learn skills to correct her thinking patterns which led to changing the way she started to feel.

This was the first time Jane understood the power she had over her own thoughts and feelings – power over her own life.

I can never forget the first time Jane said, “No one ever told me I had any control over what I am thinking. I feel free.” This was the turning point in her life. There was nothing magical or easy about the steps that followed.

Jane’s New Way of Thinking. New Way of Life.

Jane’s journey involved accepting the difficult past and injustice of her youth, while learning about who she is and her worth. Concurrently, Jane was developing a new way of thinking through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy/Rational Living Therapy skills. The process was difficult at times. With every tear and painful memory shed, she began to grow inner strength, control and awareness of how her thoughts, feelings, and actions were connected.

Jane has evolved into the person she never imagined she could be. This brought forward change in all areas of her life: work, family, relationships, and, most importantly, the relationship she has with herself and how she felt about herself.

Jane’s past could never be changed; however, it no longer defined her future.

Our Thoughts Direct Us – Consciously and Unconsciously

Problems occur when the thoughts are more often something negative or critical. Imagine, the negative or critical messages on repeat in your mind without you being aware that you have any control over them. Living a healthy, happy life when your thoughts are headed in the wrong direction becomes difficult.

The best news is that all can be changed!

You have control of your thoughts, and, therefore, you have control of your actions.

My work is to guide people on their individual path to learn about themselves, accept what they had or have no control over, understand the influence of their thoughts, and determine their future thinking.

If something about this experience sounds familiar and you want a different future created by the power of your thinking, allow me to help you feel better by creating the life you deserve.

I will help you uncover the negative messages you have become comfortable with in your daily life, as well as guide you to learn a healthy way to think.

I can confidently say this can be life changing!
